HIV in Burundi

More than 13 million children have been orphaned by AIDS, 95% of them in Africa; 4 million children have died of AIDS since the epidemic began. Life expectancy has fallen between 18-23 years in the worst affected countries. Conflict and HIV/AIDS impact most heavily on children, especially girls.
